Cause

As part of Rotary Daybreak Kamloops commitment to the community, we entered into a multi-year partnership with A Way Home Kamloops (AWHK) with plans to invest $75,000 over 3 years.

AWHK is a grassroots charitable organization with the focus on providing housing and supports to youth at risk of or experiencing homelessness. As a means of preventing and eliminating youth homelessness in Kamloops, AWHK has spearheaded the Safe Suites Program. The innovative model not only provides a crucial emergency response to youth homelessness but also provides support for young people to gain the skills necessary to transition from life on the streets. By investing in solutions that respond to youth homelessness, the Rotary Club of Kamloops Daybreak in partnership with AWHK are working towards preventing adult homelessness in our community.

This year, our goal for Lobsterfest is to raise a minimum of $50,000 to support not only A Way Home Kamloops Safe Suites Program for a second year, but several other Kamloops based organizations that depend on Rotary for funding support, while also paying tribute to Katherine McParland’s memory.
